The vegetables DAY took place at Run Mission International School on Tuesday 15th July 2025 at 12:30 in the afternoon.

The purpose of this program was to educate the learners about vegetables. The lesson was divided into two categories.  That is theory and practical.

To start with the theory aspect was

1. The meaning of vegetables

2. Examples of vegetables

3. Importance of eating vegetables

4. Ways of handling vegetables.

In addition to that, we educated them on some dishes vegetables are used for and their preparation. Examples: stew, soup and slides dish like salad.

We then moved to the practical aspect.

We prepared vegetable salad. This involved the chopped vegetables of different kinds with dressing.  We had cabbages, lotus, spring onions, cucumber, carrots, green pepper, tomatoes, onions and salt. We mixed it to form a delicious salad.  We added mayonnaise, tomatoes sauce, sardines and baked beans.

In conclusion the learners discovered the importance of eating vegetables and accepted it with joy. They were able to identify the different vegetables.  They also enjoyed the salad with their lunch.
